Holy Week Schedule

Sunday, April 1 is Easter! This time for this service is 10:00 a.m. (please note that!!!). There will be special music by the Chancel Choir, we will celebrate The Lord’s Supper and the Pastor’s message is entitled, “Rise Up and Follow!”

Invite your family and friends to share this special time of the Christian year with you. Because of the Cross, we are saved. Our Saviour was willing to walk the path during “Holy Week” that took him to death out of his love for you. He paid the price so we can live eternally with him. If you have questions about this and would like to talk to someone, please just let us know. Comment on this post or contact us through email. Call the church, check our Facebook page, we would love to the share the Gospel Story with you. Don’t wait until tomorrow, do it today!

This Sunday, March 25, is Palm Sunday. You are invited to join us at our 9:30 worship service to celebrate Christ’s triumphal entry in to Jerusalem with the Procession of the Palms.  You will be handed a palm branch when you enter the sanctuary and after the Call to Worship you may take your palm branch to place on the wooden cross. The message this Sunday is entitled, “Are We There Yet?” This service begins Holy Week.

This Wednesday, March 28, 6:00 p.m., will be our monthly covered dish meal. We celebrate March birthdays and enjoy time together. Following the meal, the children will have their Easter Egg Hunt. This is for children Pre-School through 5th grade. Bring your Easter basket without grass, please. If you don’t have one, we have extras. The Pastor will conduct an adult devotional: “A Pause Before the Storm.”

Thursday’s Maundy Thursday service will be a shared service with First United Methodist Church. The service begins at 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church.

Friday’s “Service of Shadows” will be at Wesley UMC at 6 p.m. This is a service of darkness that brings the participant to the foot of the cross with scripture readings. At the end of the service the sanctuary is ‘stripped’ of all things that bring comfort,ie the cross, the Bible, the paraments, the candles and we leave quietly, in dimmed lights.
