Serve

Opportunities to Serve in the Community are Plentiful

At Wesley UMC there are many opportunities to get involved and serve in and around our local community.

Come join those who have shared their talents, abilities and time to bless others.

Backpack Buddies

This ministry serves almost 300 students in 3 school districts from Hopkins County. We serve by assembling backpacks each Wednesday during the school year.

Ways that you can help right now: drivers to pick up food from the Food Bank, load and unload supplies, assemble the bags, and deliver to the school.

We also take the time to pray before each assembly for the recipients of the Backpack Buddies.

A big thank you to the Farmer’s Electric Charitable Foundation donation of $1,000 to our Backpack Buddies program. We appreciate it very much!!

Contact Jim Skaggs if you are interested in volunteering.

Pack the Bus

Other Areas of Service

Wesley contributes monthly to CAN Help. A portion of our monthly mission funds are donated to them.

We participate in Pack the Bus with school supplies, box fans in the summer, coats and jackets in the fall, and money each month that is used to assist those in need.

We also organize food drives and donate the collected items to Community Chest.

Little Acorn School

Our church houses a four-star day care called Little Acorn Preschool (LAS). Quality care is provided by our highly qualified staff. Currently there are 50 children and 9 staff members.
