Wesley UMC Folk:
All pastors received a notice from Bishop Michael McKee early this afternoon which said: “All persons 60 years and older, as well as those with underlying health conditions or any cough or illness, should stay away from church for the next two Sundays (March 15 & 22). I encourage any church to share an online message.”
We at Wesley encourage you to follow suggestions and protocol to protect yourself and others from the Coronavirus (COVID 19). Wash your hands often, singing the Happy Birthday song, This is the Day the Lord Has Made or even saying The Lord’s Prayer. Use tissues for coughs and sneezes and toss in the trash can immediately. Use hand sanitizer that is at least 60% alcohol. In public, keep six feet away from other people. These are the Center for Disease Control protocols.
This Sunday, and until further notice, we will only have Worship Service in Wesley Hall at 9:30 a.m. We will close down our sanctuary and have no Sunday School for the next three Sundays (Mar. 15, 22, & 29). The service will be presented on Facebook and our website. In addition, we will not have Wednesday evening activities or group activities for the rest of March.
Breaking Bread has been suspended until we receive an ALL CLEAR from the health authorities as well as Bishop McKee.
We do encourage you to connect with one another by phone and/or social media. Texting, email or Face Time are all options for staying in touch. In these uncertain times, Social Media could be the biggest blessing we have in order to connect with others while staying in and away from COVID 19.
Let’s continue to care for and pray for each other. With God’s help and us doing our part, we will get through this. “Cast your cares on Christ for He care about you.” I Peter 5:7
Pastor Steve (Soli Doe Gloria)
